Course overview

Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Refresh is the course for those who need to renew their SCRB certificate.

After successfully completing the course, you can apply for a Survival Craft and Rescue Boats certificate from either Traficom (Finland) or the Swedish Transport Agency.

The course includes digital preparatory studies in the form of e-learning, which you will gain access to three weeks before the course starts. Read more about e-learning here.

Coffee and lunch are included in the course price.

  • Operation of survival craft and rescue boats
  • Handling of lifesaving equipment
  • Handling of survivors
  • Distress signals

Prerequisites

  • A valid medical certificate for seafarers not older than two years.
  • Approved e-learning before the course starts.
  • Transportstyrelsen: You must have at least three months of relevant sea service within the last five years. A previously issued Swedish certificate in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats or certification as Deck Officer Class VII, VI, V, IV, III, II, or Master Mariner, Engineer Officer, Marine Engineer.
  • Traficom: Previously issued SCRB certificate.

Good to know

Courses that run over two days and start at 15:00 are scheduled to match the ferry arrival and departure times. You can reach us with the morning ferry from Turku/Stockholm and return with the corresponding ferry after the course ends.
